Fratres

Fratres means brothers.

The name comes from Latin. The idea behind it is simpler: different people and specialties can build stronger solutions when they share a discipline of thinking.

Brothers

Brothers come from the same place, walk different roads and stay tied to one another. For us, that is the plainest description of how different kinds of expertise should stand together inside a company.

One structure, many voices

One inspiration for the name is Fratres, the 1977 work by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. It has no fixed instrumentation and has been arranged for many ensembles over the years. The same structure returns, changing a little each time. We do not mean this as a musical metaphor. It describes how we work: the method holds, and each engagement has its own voice.

The method holds. Each engagement has its own voice.

The mark

Our logo is two blocks standing side by side, one low and one high. Two pieces of different height make one form, and that form makes a step. The step geometry you see across this site comes from there.
