Education

Parents choosing a school are not buying a service, they are handing over years of their child's life.

We bring together communication, local search, websites and the enrollment experience for preschools, private schools and education technology companies. The tone is warm and serious at once, answering what parents really ask without overselling. The regulatory notes below are general information as of October 2026: rules change, and specific cases need counsel.

How the sector works

Several people make the decision

Both parents usually weigh in, and grandparents often have a voice too. Whether the child will be happy and safe sits on the same table as teachers, fees and the commute. Good communication answers all of it calmly and openly.

The strongest reference is another parent

Parents ask each other, in the apartment building, at work and in messaging groups. The website and social accounts often get opened after those conversations, to check what was heard. An inconsistency at that moment does real damage.

Proximity decides a lot

Especially for preschool and primary years, being close to home or work directly shapes the choice. Families search on a map and want to see the address, the hours and the place itself. Accurate listings and local search are basic work for these institutions.

Enrollment runs on a calendar

Families tend to settle on a school around the time fees are announced and campus visits happen. In that window, an unanswered form or a slow reply tells parents something about how the school pays attention. The enrollment experience belongs to the institution, not just to marketing.

Trust has to be checkable

The Ministry of National Education tells parents to confirm a school's approval before enrolling, using its QR code or the Ministry's website. Keeping institutional details identical to the official record is therefore where communication starts.

Regulatory differences

This section is general information, not legal advice. Rules change, so check specific cases with your counsel.

  1. Informational advertising only, and no television

Private education institutions may run only advertising and announcements that are informational and suited to their purpose. They may not make untrue statements, and they may not advertise on television.

  2. Student images and information

Running false or misleading advertising, or using student photos or information in advertising or announcements, carries an administrative fine. The fine rises on repetition, and a third offense leads to cancellation of the institution's permit and license. The statute's wording contains no exception for parental consent.

  3. Institution names and fee announcements

On signs, advertising, announcements and all other dealings, an institution may use only the name or abbreviation on its permit and license. Fee announcements must be made by the end of May, entered in the Ministry's MEBBİS system, posted where parents can see them and published on the institution's website. Check the current regulation for specific items and dates.

  4. Preschools and day care answer to different ministries

Private preschools fall under Law No. 5580 and the Ministry of National Education. Private nurseries (0 to 24 months) and day care centers (25 to 66 months) follow a Ministry of Family and Social Services regulation, which sets its own duties such as fee announcements. Confirm which ministry issued the license before planning any communication.

  5. Children's data and targeting

Targeted advertising based on personal data profiling is barred for people known, or reasonably expected, to be children, a rule in force since August 1, 2026. In a decision about a school, Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Board asked for separate choices for each use, such as brochures, websites and social media. A July 2026 Ministry letter to the provinces also restricts public sharing of student images, according to press reports; please confirm with counsel how it applies to private schools.

Services that work together

Go-to-market for education technology

A product sold to schools and a product sold to parents take different routes, so positioning and content follow that split. Distance education providers appear in Law No. 5580's definition of an institution, so we settle the product's status early. For products children use, communication goes to the adult who decides.

Common questions

Can our school post student photos?

Using student photos or information in advertising or announcements is sanctioned under Law No. 5580, so we do not recommend student images in promotional material. For non-advertising uses, look at the parent's explicit consent for each use, current Ministry letters and your counsel's view together.

Can we announce exam results?

False or misleading statements are prohibited, and student information cannot be used in advertising or announcements. A safer route is to talk about the school's approach and verifiable general facts without putting students forward. Please get your counsel's view on the specific wording.

Can private schools advertise on Google or Meta?

The law expressly rules out television and does not list online channels separately. The test is whether the ad is informational, suited to the school's purpose and truthful. Online campaigns should target adult decision-makers and avoid profiling children. We suggest reviewing the plan with your counsel before launch.

Can we send bulk messages to parents during enrollment?

Under Law No. 6563, commercial electronic messages require the recipient's prior consent, tradespeople and merchants aside, and the content has to match that consent. So consent belongs at the start of your forms and CRM setup. Personal data obligations apply to parent information as well.

Before we work together, let's think together.
