Medical

In healthcare, trust comes from information that can be checked, not from promises.

We handle websites, health SEO, and scientific and corporate communication for medical technology companies and healthcare providers. Clinical accuracy gets settled with the relevant specialist, and regulatory fit with your counsel, before anything goes live. The regulatory notes below are general information as of October 2026: rules change, and specific cases need counsel.

How the sector works

Patients read first and ask later

People usually look up a symptom online before they see a doctor. What they want at that stage is clear, reliable information rather than an offer. Content with a named source and a visible update date serves the reader better, and search engines too.

The doctor's name often outweighs the institution's

In private care, people frequently search for a specific physician or a name they heard from someone close. Corporate communication has to present titles and fields of practice accurately while staying inside the limits the rules allow.

Medical device decisions are made by a group

In a hospital purchase, physicians, biomedical staff, procurement and management all have a say. Clinical evidence, technical fit, service and budget get weighed together, and public tenders set the calendar on the government side. One message will not reach all of them.

Errors cost more here

In healthcare, a content mistake is a real risk for the reader, not just a reputational one. Publishing therefore needs expert review on top of good editing. Search engines hold these topics to a higher reliability standard as well.

Regulatory differences

This section is general information, not legal advice. Rules change, so check specific cases with your counsel.

  1. The advertising ban for health services

Covert or open advertising of health services is prohibited; what remains is promotion and information within defined limits. Content may not steer patients toward a specific provider, use thank-you or satisfaction statements as advertising, or mention fees, discounts, campaigns or promotions. Anyone who shares non-compliant content is as responsible as the party that created it.

  2. Search, sponsored content and health tourism

Facilities and professionals may register with search engines and social platforms only if the listing is not paid, sponsored or built for prominence, and keywords and results-page text must follow the same rules. Sponsored promotion has narrow exceptions: the first month after a facility opens, and new technologies and methods the Ministry has medically accepted. International health tourism has its own regime, allowing sponsored promotion aimed abroad in official languages other than Turkish, under conditions and with no domestic targeting.

  3. Patient images and consent

Patient images require explicit consent, which can be withdrawn at any time and cannot be exchanged for payment, discounts or gifts. Before-and-after images must be shot under the same setting and technical conditions and carry dates. Later retouching is not allowed, and images from surgery or of intimate areas cannot be shared. Visual content cannot be published for a fee and must be closed to comments, likes and reshares.

  4. Medical device advertising and promotion

Devices intended solely for use by health professionals or requiring application at a sales center, and devices offered only through hearing, orthotic and prosthetic, optical or dental prosthetic facilities, cannot be advertised to consumers. Other devices can be advertised to consumers only in the online environment where they are sold, with the exception of the Annex 3 list, and banner or pop-up ads on third-party sites and accounts are banned. Promotion is limited to health professionals and relevant technical staff. Advertisers, agencies and media organizations are all bound by these principles.

  5. Health data

Health data is a special category of personal data and processing it is prohibited by default. It is possible only under one of the conditions listed in the law and with the safeguards set by the Personal Data Protection Board. The promotion regulation also requires compliance with data protection law, the Patient Rights Regulation and the Personal Health Data Regulation. Appointment forms, tracking tags and ad targeting should therefore be reviewed before launch.

Services that work together

An information-first website and search presence for providers

We design sites where departments, physician details and health guides stay within promotion and information limits, and where the last update date and editor contact are visible. On the search side, the job is answering the right question accurately, not steering patients.

Measurement with privacy built in

Forms, appointment flows and tags are designed to measure performance without collecting health data. Decisions about which tags run on sensitive pages get made with your counsel.

Common questions

Can a hospital or clinic use Google Ads?

As a general rule, no. The regulation permits search engine listings only if they are not paid, sponsored or built for prominence. Separate conditions apply to the first month after opening, to new methods accepted by the Ministry, and to health tourism promotion aimed abroad. Please work out any plan around these exceptions with your counsel.

Can we publish before-and-after images?

Only under conditions: explicit patient consent, the same setting and technical conditions, dates, and no retouching. The images cannot be published for a fee, must be closed to interaction and must carry a notice that results vary from person to person. They also cannot promote the facility beyond the limits of information, so each piece needs its own review.

Can we market our medical device directly to consumers?

That depends on the device. Devices meant only for use by health professionals cannot be advertised to consumers. For others, advertising is generally limited to the online environment where the device is sold, and products on the Annex 3 list are treated separately. We start by placing the device in the right group, then work out which channels are open.

Can we use patient reviews on our website?

Thank-you and satisfaction statements from patients or relatives cannot be used in advertising-style posts, and they cannot be shared visually even if they were first made elsewhere. Separate conditions apply on overseas-facing health tourism platforms, with documented explicit consent. The commercial advertising regulation also blocks consumer reviews containing unlawful health claims.
