Strategy & Growth
Funnel Strategy
We turn the path from first contact to purchase into clear stages, find where and why people drop out, and design the content, offers and follow-up each stage needs.
The problem
Plenty of leads come in, most disappear somewhere along the way, and nobody can say where or why.
Slides show a tidy funnel. Real buyers research, leave, consult colleagues and come back months later through a different channel. Without entry and exit criteria for each stage, one word can mean different things to different teams.
Leaks also get blamed on the wrong team. A weak close rate looks like a sales problem, yet the cause may be a campaign attracting the wrong people or inquiries that reach a rep too late. Blended rates hide this.
Another gap is the lack of any path for people who aren't ready to buy. They get pushed at sales or forgotten.
You may recognize this
- CRM stages exist, but no rule says when a record moves forward.
- Prospects who say “not right now” receive no further contact.
- Most content targets awareness, and the decision stage is nearly empty.
How we work
Stage and exit criteria
Working from real records, we write each stage's entry condition, exit evidence and owner. Criteria track buyer behavior instead of seller activity.
Conversion waterfall
Stage conversion and time in stage are broken down by channel, segment and source. This shows where the largest leak sits and which fix is cheapest.
Content and offer mapping
We list the question and objection at each stage, map existing assets to them and fill gaps with comparison pages, case narratives or pricing guides.
Scoring and nurture
Fit and intent are scored on separate axes. People not ready for sales enter behavior-triggered email paths and return to sales when their signals change.
What we deliver
- Funnel map with stage definitions
- Leak analysis and prioritized fix list
- Stage-by-stage content and offer matrix
- Fit and intent scoring model
- Nurture scenarios
How we measure
- Stage-to-stage conversion: shows where the loss concentrates.
- Time in stage: catches a blockage before conversion visibly falls.
- Qualified opportunity rate by source: reveals whether budget is buying volume or fit.
Inquiries at an adult education provider
Illustrative scenario: An adult education provider gets many form fills from ads, but enrollments lag behind. Analysis shows that applicants are called late and that those who can't find pricing answers quietly leave. The provider changes its first-call standard, adds program comparison content and builds a nurture path for undecided applicants.
Common questions
Do short sales cycles need a funnel strategy?
Yes, in a lighter form. When people decide within days, speed and first-contact quality carry most of the weight.
Can we start without a CRM?
You can, though measurement will be limited. We build the first map from ad, form and sales records and recommend the CRM structure you need for ongoing tracking.
How is this different from CRO?
Funnel strategy sets the structure of the whole journey. CRO improves conversion on specific pages through research and testing. Usually you locate the leak first and test there second.
